The brand

A charity runs on trust, and trust needs proof.

As-Subah Outreach ran an emergency appeal after the earthquake in Turkey and sent a team of volunteers to Hatay with food and aid.

Donors rarely see what happens after they give. Most appeal films show the need and stop there, and the person who donated is left to assume the rest.

The idea

Follow the donation all the way to the doorstep.

We built the film as a report. It starts at the point where the money became something you can hold: boxes coming off a truck, passed along a line of volunteers in As-Subah vests. Then it shows why they were needed, and then where they went.

The people receiving are filmed as neighbours. There are handshakes, a meal being cooked in the street and children playing outside.

The appealHatay

Passed along by hand, box after box, all the way to the door.

The film

One minute: the boxes, the rubble, the doorstep, the meal.

The logo is on screen throughout, on the vests, the boxes and the appeal banner, because the film’s job is to show donors that the charity was there in person.

It ends the way it began, with volunteers heading back for the next load.
